When people come to Rawalpindi or Islamabad for work, their routine is often the same: go from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to meetings, and then back again. With the busy traffic on Murree Road and many deadlines, it can be hard to find a quiet moment.
But the Twin Cities also have many peaceful places where you can relax. While staying at Islamabad Youth Boys Hostel near Rehmanabad Metro Station, I discovered some quiet spots where busy professionals can take a break and clear their minds.
Here are some simple and peaceful places you can visit.
1. Panjpeer Rocks – A Quiet Place in the Mountains
Sometimes the best way to relax is to leave the city for a while. Many people go to Murree, but a lesser-known place is Panjpeer Rocks in Kotli Sattian.
This place is about 70–80 km from Islamabad. It is located high in the mountains and gives you a beautiful view of the Potohar region. The name Panjpeer means “five saints,” because it is believed that five holy men once prayed and meditated here.
Why it is good for busy people:
It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to drive there from Rawalpindi. The area is very quiet, with fresh air and beautiful views. Watching the sunrise here can help you feel relaxed and ready for the week ahead.
2. Kinara Park – Peace by the Lake
Kinara Park is located near Rawal Lake and is much quieter than the more famous Lake View Park. It can be reached through Chak Shahzad Road.
This park is a calm place where you can enjoy nature. Many visitors say it is perfect for relaxing, thinking, or simply enjoying the view of the lake.
Tip:
Try visiting on a Friday evening. Bring a book or just sit and watch the water. The peaceful environment can help you relax after a busy workday.
3. Hidden Gardens in Rawalpindi Cantonment
You don’t always need to travel far to find a quiet place. In Rawalpindi Cantonment, there are some beautiful gardens that many people do not know about.
Places like Roses Garden and International Friendship Garden have green lawns, flowers, and clean walking paths. They are peaceful and much quieter than the busy roads nearby.
For someone traveling alone, a short evening walk in these gardens can help reduce stress after a long day of work.
4. Blossom Park – Beautiful in Spring
If you visit the city in early March, you should see Blossom Park.
During this time, the trees bloom with beautiful white and pink flowers. The park has walking paths where you can take a slow walk or do a light jog.
It is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and forget about work for a while.
5. Peaceful Sufi Shrines
Around Rawalpindi and Islamabad, there are also many spiritual places. Near Kallar Kahar, there is a famous Sufi shrine close to the lake.
The area is calm and beautiful. Visitors can see peacocks walking freely and enjoy the peaceful view of the water. The quiet atmosphere helps people relax and feel calm.
Final Thought
Work trips should not only be about meetings and presentations. Rawalpindi and Islamabad also have many peaceful places where you can relax and enjoy nature.
If you take a little time to explore, you will discover that the Twin Cities have a calm and beautiful side waiting for you.
